I like to watch and read celebrity interviews. Most of the interviews have one question “Which is your dream holiday destination?” and answers includes Switzerland, Egypt, Italy, Paris, Mauritius and numerous other destinations.
Other day while driving to attend my dance class, please note “dance”, I was tuned into one of the FM radio station and was listening to ‘BBC – Ek Mulaaqat ‘ a chat show. This time the guest was Rajeev Khandelwal, main character of movie ‘Aamir’. The same question was asked to this guy and very politely he replied ‘Kashmir’.
I was quite impressed with the way Rajeev justified his answer and there was one more instant addition into the fan list of this down to earth person.
People never have been to beautiful places in India like Kashmir, extreme deserts of Rajasthan, Wildlife of Sunderbans, Nilgiris mountains in down south, Andamans, etc. but they still prefer to visit places in other countries.
Q. Why don’t they ever want to visit such amazingly beautiful places in India? Are they unaware of such places in India?
A. Probably, the popular Hindi adage goes: ghar ki murgi dal barabar, meaning that the things at home are rarely appreciated!

But I think its not that people don't like India, its just that they prefer newer destinations and cultural experiences when they go for a holiday.
